The No Worker Left Behind (NWLB) program was created in August 2007 to help Michigan workers in the changing economy. Through NWLB, opportunities exist to accelerate worker transitions to more knowledge-based careers, earn college credentials, and support the state's development needs. The NWLB can cover the cost of a student’s education for jobs in areas of demand.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Any person who is currently unemployed, or • Any person who has received a notice of termination or layoff from employment, or • Any employed person whose family income is $40,000 or less per year
Participants must be at least 18 years old, must not have graduated from high school in the last two years and must not be full-time college students.
Sign-up for NWLB:
• Visit your local Michigan Works! Service Center. Call 1-800-285-WORK to find the nearest office location. • Post your resume at Michigan Talent Bank (resume writing help). • Apply for admission to Madonna University • Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA • Complete necessary eligibility and skills assessments as administered by the Michigan Works! Agency • Use Plan of Study to register for classes • Use aid from NWLB to fund your education
