Sustainability at Madonna University

We were pleased to be joined at our opening faculty business meeting in August 2008 by Debra Rowe.  Debra has been active in organizations and at the national level on a campaign for sustainability.  She has been a professor at Oakland Community College for over 20 years of renewable energies and energy management.  For the full article, please visit http://www.ulsf.org/about_bio_drowe.htm.  Her Madonna University presentation is below.

Education and Action for a Sustainable Future

Debra’s challenge to us was to incorporate sustainability topics into both our courses and our work at Madonna University.  The most predominate example is our current new “green” building initiative.  Below are shared some other ideas that our Madonna University faculty and staff have incorporated into their work.  Please contact Dina DuBuis, Registrar and Chairperson of the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Franciscan Values,  ddubuis@madonna.edu to share some of yours.
