Kresge Foundation Challenges Madonna University with $1.5 Million In a generous endorsement of faith and trust in Madonna University, The Kresge Foundation has awarded us a $1.5 million challenge grant to support the new science and media building. To receive the grant, we must raise $3.25 million by January 1, 2010. The Kresge Foundation challenge grant is a great way for you to leverage your gift, and moves us closer to our goal, and receipt of the additional $1.5 million. Whether it’s the police officer who helped you at the scene of an accident, the teacher who gave special attention to an autistic child, the nurse who held your loved one’s hand, or the interpreter who communicated your good news to a Deaf co-worker, Madonna University prepares students for careers that serve others. Funds from the Kresge Challenge Grant will ensure that the Madonna tradition of excellence continues for generations to come. At nearly 60,000 square feet, this “green” building will provide the University’s growing science program with laboratories that exceed nationally recognized standards for higher education, along with state-of-the-art production facilities that meet the highly technical demands of the broadcast and cinema arts program. It is the first building in Livonia to be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
